À l’ombre de l’Espoir is a not-for-profit association, established in Belgium in 2006. It is currently active in a prison in West Africa. It is apolitical and has two key goals: provide healthcare for prisoners and improve their quality of life.

The association is made up of healthcare workers, teachers, academics from all disciplines and volunteers. It cooperates with religious organisations that work in the prison and through its own local organisation.
